Dr. Cheri McGee is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents and families experiencing an array of difficulties. Dr. McGee graduated magna cum laude from Virginia Tech in 1999 with a Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Psychology. Dr. McGee completed a Masters Degree (M.A.) at Argosy University in 2003 and a Doctoral Degree (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology in 2005. Dr. McGee completed her predoctoral internship at the prestigious Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins University in the Child and Family Therapy Clinic. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at The Accotink Academy, working with children and adolescents with learning and emotional disabilities.
Dr. McGee has worked in a variety of settings, including residential facilities, outpatient clinics and therapeutic academic programs. Dr. McGee has extensive training and experience working with children and families with emotional, behavioral and educational difficulties. She is particularly interested in working with school age children and young adults. She enjoys providing individual, family, and group therapy as well as parent support and training and academic consultation.
When she is not working, Dr. McGee enjoys spending time with her husband and family, reading and traveling.
