Jillian Schneider

Jillian C. Schneider, Ph.D., is a clinical pediatric neuropsychologist. Her areas of specialized training and interest include the neuropsychological assessment of children with developmental disorders, such as learning disabilities (LD) and Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as acquired neurological disorders and conditions such as brain tumor,Dr. Jillian Schneider traumatic brain injury and epilepsy.

Dr. Schneider has had extensive training in neuropsychological assessment with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, neurological disorders, acquired brain injuries, and learning and behavior disorders. She graduated with honors from the University of Virginia, earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology and received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in neuropsychology, from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During graduate school, Dr. Schneider trained at A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, gaining experience in neuropsychological assessment and cognitive behavioral therapy with children with ADHD, LD, HIV/AIDS, sickle cell disease, and epilepsy.

Dr. Schneider’s graduate research focused on the effects of sports-related mild traumatic brain injury/concussion on cognitive and emotional functioning. Dr. Schneider completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed rotations in the inpatient and outpatient Neuropsychology departments furthering her training in neuropsychological assessment of children with developmental and acquired neurological injuries. Dr. Schneider also completed a rotation in behavior therapy, providing behavioral management training for parents with school-aged children with behavioral difficulties, toileting problems, and behavioral sleep difficulties. Dr. Schneider completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in the Division of Neuropsychology at Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) in Washington, DC. She completed rotations through the Safe Concussion Outcome Recovery and Education (SCORE) clinic, the Executive Function clinic, the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program, and the Hematology/ Oncology Program. Additionally, Dr. Schneider continued her research in sports-related concussion, earning a grant to develop a child and informant report questionnaire of mood states to improve assessment of post-concussion emotional functioning in young children. Dr. Schneider has published chapters on sports-related concussion and HIV/AIDS. She is licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is a member of the American Psychological Association and the International Neuropsychological Society.
